Kate is a supervisor for Tritonia Scientific in their southern branch in the South West of England, having joined the team in 2021. She earned a BSc in Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences at the University of Washington in 2010 where she learned scientific diving methodology before undertaking further studies focusing on cuttlefish at the Université de Rennes. Her commercial dive training was completed in Tasmania in 2013 and, shortly after, she joined a 6-month expedition with the Australian Antarctic Division at Casey Station as dive/science support. Bitten by the Antarctic bug, she went on to spend two 18-month periods working for the British Antarctic Survey as the Field Diving Officer at the Rothera Research Station.
